in reference to the christmas minis...

i've had a few people inquire about ordering additional cards with their session, which of course is wonderful...the more the merrier!

after having several of you ask about additional cards, i'm happy to have clients substitute an additional 48 cards in place of the four gift prints if that option suites your needs better. it's entirely up to you!

additional 24 card packs can be ordered at a 10% discount, as always.

as a bonus to my fabulous established clientele (those who've had a prior full session(s) with me), i want to offer you-all any additional cards at a 20% discount...some of you have an impressive send list!

i did send out (most) of the first (non-snow-cards) cards i had ordered, but i came straight in from playing in the snow & got busy putting this one together; i believe i had them ordered that day! i actually just revisited the candid snow shoot i was able to capture & it got me all in the holiday spirit...you know, because i look forward to all the gorgeous mornings i'll wake up to a beautiful blanket of white outside my window...teehee.

now...as for the mini shoot...i can't promise snow (wouldn't that be nice though?!), but i can promise a fun, original shoot that your kids (and you) will actually enjoy, but you better get signed up...i'm about half way booked & i'd hate for anyone to miss out!

i am beyond excited about this years sessions! this was released to my past & present clientele last week & i'm pleased to say i look forward to connecting with many of my favorite little people this fall for their christmas pictures!

that fun, outdoor location just happens to be one of my favorite christmas-time places...one where i have captured treasured family photos since even before chuck & i were married!

christmas memories tree farm, owned & operated by mr. terry pigott, offers acre after acre of beautiful evergreens surrounded by wooded area as well as open spaces! i choose this location with much thought & have a notebook full of unique, individual ideas i will be executing during these sessions! each shoot will get an original gallery of images, that's for sure.

without giving away too much...i have plans of capturing a series of family-having-fun-together shots along with ideas that lean toward more formal portraiture for the mom who wants her little one in her new christmas dress among other set-up sketches i've imaged in this special location! whatever your vision, you can bet we'll make it happen :o) & if you happen to not have one...i am brimming with ideas!

aside from the goal of capturing an amazing shot for your custom designed christmas cards for 2009, christmas memories tree farm will also provide the perfect setting for me to capture some of my more recognizable portraits of your kidlet(s)! ...the expressive headshots and such that make beautiful portraits & aren't at all limited to the christmas season.

this is the opportunity to get a taste of lindeymagee photography without booking a traditional session. collections & a la carte items are available, but there is no print purchase commitment associated to the christmas minis.

exclusive child photographer, say what!?

...i've had a hannah montana overload today :o) ...forgive me.

i've actually gotten a couple emails regarding my last post...i should clarify an important point.

as an exclusive newborn & children's photographer, i will be focusing my work on those subjects, but it's important to point out that i have always advocated mom sneaking into some shots (even if she resists...i get my way!) & even grabbing a real-life family portrait if dad's available!

 

the connection between a momma & her baby is children's portraiture! so to answer your email concerns...i will continue to capture these sweet, emotional memories as a part of any newborn/baby or children's session :o)

 

(good grief! in thinking/looking through images to add to help illustrate this post...i was overwhelmed with lots of favorite 'connection' shots! i could post all night, but decided on one new & one old fave. how could i not continue to capture these emotional connections!?)

if you are seeking strictly family portraiture, i'm happy to refer you to a photographer more suited for that.

i hope everyone had a fabulous Independence day! God Bless America, land that i LOVE :o) brother mike preached an amazing patriotic message that got me all fired up this morning...freedom isn't free & our nation that was founded on 'In God we Trust' and the very idea of independence has & is turning it's back on those very principals that make us the greatest nation in the world. my country & her leaders are in my prayers each & every day...please remember them in yours.

not every session makes it to the blog, but i have spent some bits of time across the past while updating my site. there is always more to do & i plan on giving it some time across next week. if you'd like to see more of my work, there are age specific galleries there (bottom left corner).

i've also made an exciting decision to tighten my portrait work to what i love best...what makes my creative heart dance.

i am now photographing newborns, babies, and children's portraiture exclusively. i am so excited about being an exclusive children's photographer! it is my passion & i know concentrating soul-y on sweet little people will let that shine in each session i take on!

i do only take a limited number of sessions per month. i made the decision in the very beginning that i would stick to quality & not quantity...this mindset allows me to give each session detailed attention from beginning to end!

i'm blessed to stay booked with fabulous clients & my wonderful little 'grow with me plan' clients alone keep me busy throughout the year (love you all!) especially my sweet little guinea pig!

 

my decision to photograph children exclusively will hopefully allow me to be available to do what it is i love most.

...i want to be available to the mom who desires a soulful, emotional capture of her daughter-before that hint of little girl fades forever.

the mom who wants her sons' sweet brotherly moment paused timelessly to admire on a dramatic canvas in the hall entryway to their rooms-forever.

 

and the mom who is in a sleep-deprived blur those first two weeks of her new little miracle's arrival...the newness comes & goes in the blink of an eye...& i want to pause time for her.

 

i am a custom photographer...i take great joy in meeting and getting to know each new little client. they each take a little place in my heart as i spend hours capturing them & then individually editing each photo according to how it is most visually pleasing.

the journey doesn't end there though. i will soon be posting a little about the custom service my clients receive regarding the ordering process...this is new & exciting; it's been well received & i'm happy to offer this additional service as part of your lindeymagee photography experience!

photography began as a passion for me-never anything less. before every teenager had a digital camera by her side everywhere she went, there was me...the lone film cameraman throughout school, then beyond. i loved it.

i recall that simply to say...i am so very blessed to be given the opportunity to do what i love & help provide for my family doing it. God is so good & i praise Him for blessing me with the ability to see the light, the heart to connect with children, and the joy of being able to return to Him just a fraction of what he has provided!

if you'd like to schedule a children's or newborn session, you'll need to contact me through the website's contact section. feel free to request a current pricing sheet and ask any questions. you can include your phone number if you'd like me to give you a call.

(i appreciate potential clients initially contacting me via email, as i am better able to communicate that way...as opposed to receiving many phone calls throughout the day while mommying a crying baby or eating dinner with my family:o)...i make no secret for the fact that i am wife & mom first; this is why i take a limited number of sessions each month. i prefer to give the best of myself to both my family & you by not taking on too much! thank you for understanding!)

and a reminder: a $100 non-refundable retainer for your session is due within five days after booking your session. this guarantees the time and date allotted for you. should payment not be received in this time frame, lindeymagee photography reserves the right to offer the date & time to another client.

...doesn't begin to describe my weekend!

as inspiring as skye's work has been to me over the years via following her blog and other online presence; the actual person was just a dream to meet and learn from!

i'm recharged. i'm inspired. i got a dose of business. a heap of creativity behind the lens. i really see, with wide open eyes & heart, exactly what i desire to capture in the children i create portraits of.

i'm eager to open the books for clients!

this coming weekend has been a highly anticipated one for me!

tomorrow, i am headed out of town to meet up with skye hardwick-edmonds...a hugely respected exclusive children's photographer based in california. skye is behind the well-known (at least in photography circles) 'work of heart photography.'

the opportunity came up for me to work with & be mentored by skye soon after i found out i was pregnant with pailyn. i immediately called my mom to see if she would come with me & keep the little roo while i worked with skye. needless to say, alone time with pailyn...oh yea!

and so it was set up.

now it's here & i'm beyond excited about the opportunity to learn from, who i believe is, the best in the industry at captureing children's portrature

 

i will be returning sunday with what i am sure will be a renewed energy & fresh ideas for being behind the camera...just in time for me to open my books for clients in april!
