i don't know about you...

...but i'm still pretty full from turkey day!

i hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving :o) family, food, fun board games, and food, food, food was enjoyed by my crew. it's so wonderful to have so much to be thankful for!

on a photography note:

wow! has it been a busy last few weeks :o) the mini sessions went super! something i'll repeat next holiday season-hopefully scheduling a couple weekends to accommodate everyone :o)

i've spent the entire last week prepping & sending off orders-with the exception of an exciting newborn coffee table book i look forward to designing-i'm officially done for the year!!  all that's left to do is the stalking of the ups man and presentation of the orders to my fabulous clients!

i will be letting email 'pile up' until wednesday or thursday of next week, but will dive right back in then. orders are expected to trickle in across next week as well, so i'll be in touch regarding that too.

there isn't a whole lot i want to share because i don't want to give away christmas cards, but i have to post a pic or two, right?

need holiday portraits?

...the wait is over & just in the nick of time! i'm excited to announce my first year of holiday season mini-sessions :o) these will be by appointment (on a first come basis) on saturday, november 15, 2008.

because i only take on a few sessions per month, i knew i'd never be able to accomodate all my wonderfully patient waiting-list-clients & those of you wanting holiday portraits...and so...the holiday mini-session is born!

these twenty minute sessions are designed to provide you with images for holiday cards & gifts. unlike my typical sessions, this session will only include one location (percy quin state park just outside of town), one outfit, and 5-10 portrait images in your online gallery.

cost is $125.00 and that includes a 20 minute session for your family of five or less (please add $25 for each additional person), 5-10 image portaits in an online gallery, a set of 25 custom designed photo christmas cards, and one 8x10 portrait of your choice.

your gallery will go live by thursday, november 21st and you will have one week to place your complete order.

now that you've got all the info, email me to reserve your spot. i'll send an online invoice for the $50 deposit that will reserve your spot. i am only booking 6 sessions for this saturday, november 15 and they're sure to go fast...so get in touch!

it's a matter of the heart

i know it isn't a necessarily wise 'business' practice to campaign through a 'business' focused blog. but this is bigger than that...this is a matter of the heart.

today, is november fourth...the day our country will elect the next leader of this great nation. i've been in constant prayer for our country and it's leaders and this election. our nation, it's very foundation of morals & ethics & freedom, is under attack from within. it's both scary and very, very sad.

i am a responsible citizen and have done my homework regarding both candidates; sadly...much of it has had to be done through much seeking & reading of the facts on my part, as america's mainstream media has ambushed first hillary, and the mccain-palin ticket with their ever-obvious in-the-tank for obama reporting. irresponsible. sad.

john mccain would not have been my very fist pick, but his record shows a heart for country first and he values life. he pledges allegiance to his flag. to my flag. he shows his country the respect it deserves. he has fought for my very freedom at the expense of his own.

regardless of whether my deepest fears about what obama's true intentions are regarding his run for president...regardless of his ties and associations with radical-american-hating figures in our country and abroad...regardless of the list of things i could state about him with documented back up. i need nothing other than the one utube video i have seen with my own eyes of obama in 2001 giving a speech in which he reads passages from the Bible...God's word, and actually scoffs at them.

it's a matter of the heart. an informative and easy to read summary of obama's stance on abortion & more importantly partial birth & born alive babies can be found at born alive truth 

i can't find a word quite strong enough to discribe his view regarding a baby born alive...a baby who's survived an adult trying to take it's very life!? if it comes down to women's rights & that helpless baby with a mighty-will-to-live happens to be a girl, then what about hers, huh? what about her rights?

this 40 inch banner featuring two of my littlest clients can be found proudly displayed in my yard!

 

and this little blessing is warmly snuggled in my ever-expanding belly!

size really does matter ;o)

    ...when it comes to bigger is better...that so applies to a portrait!

it's never been so apparent to me as it was several weeks ago when this arrived:

 

it's a gorgeous 30x40 gallery wrapped canvas. the photo doesn't do it justice; i had to put an excited (can't you tell) mr. ben in the pic just to convey it's massiveness & that doesn't even work all that well.

 

to give you an idea. the canvas to the right is a nice-sized 20x20; it just happens to be a true-to-life-sized portrait (otherwise if mr. g were standing next to himself in the portrait, they'd be the same size)...compair that to big sister e (no pun intended) ;o)

you can click on the storyboard below to get a better look...i was excited about this little sequence of shots & was excited that his momma choose to order that storyboard i designed for her gallery!   

you know, one might think that my walls are adorned with canvases of heather & ben, but honestly...i've sat down to order for myself & become so overwhelmed with 'which one should i choose?!?' that, no...my walls are ready & waiting for big kidlet portraits. melissa's order has totally inspired me to go big, big, big on my stone fireplace! i seriously didn't want to hand over that portrait!

 

i just love all my clients, i do! they are so much fun to work with & it's always such an adventure to help them decide what they want to order.

i have to especially brag on g & e's momma though! melissa's & i were a perfect match, if i do say so myself :o) my favorite was her favorite

the shoot was for her youngest dude & miss e tagged along in her jammies, tossed around curls & chipped nail polish. when i spotted her kneeling down to pick me a little field flower i quickly snapped & knew right then that that particular picture would steal the show...it had me...the photo that makes me eager to sit down & edit...the one that gets edited first-there is one in every session & this was the one!

i don't always get to see my personal favorite printed big, so when melissa ordered this one in all it's 30x40 glory, she so made my day :o) thanks girl!
