newborn baby boy r [ brookhaven, mississippi photographer ]
it's a good thing my blog keeps me logged in or may forget how to get in with these huge gaps between posts. i owe many sneak peaks that likely won't actually happen, but i've stayed very on top of getting galleries up over the past few busy months in order not to drown-so hopefully a shorter wait time makes up for my sneak peak neglect ;o)
baby r decided to make an early arrival late last month. he is pure sweetness and all boy. gah...how i *love* his hairline!
i've had this mohawk knit in my arsenal of props for quite some time just waiting for a baby boy cool enough to pull it off.
and he was!
for the most part, i go into each newborn session open minded & ready to let baby and the surroundings guide me along the way as to what images i'll be capturing. i do often have an idea or two i'd like to pull off if it works out...below is the image i wanted to capture when i saw baby boy's nursery pics on fb before he arrived.
he was a perfect little poser and sleeper for me allowing me to get just what i envisioned! dad did a great job too :o)
what a perfect christmas blessing a new baby is! l & c, he is perfection and so enjoyed spending the day with your new family of three.

abby cadabby costume [ mississippi child photographer
my pailyn dressed up as her favorite fairy-in-training, abby cadabby...from sesame street. i just loved her as abby & she loved herself in that big bright tutu dress. she knew exactly how to work that wand & has been calling her sparkly pink shoes "abby shoes" for weeks.
i just think my baby girl is stinkin' cute in this next one. look at those prissy little fingers & that pointed toe!
time to head back for nap time before trick-or-treat.

a milk & cookies birthday party [ brookhaven, mississippi child photographer ]
i have been super excited about amelia's milk & cookie themed second birthday party! i adore a fabulous party & once upon a time enjoyed planning birthday parties for heather & bennett. i've been on somewhat of a break from party planning for my kids for a few years, so it was super fun for me to root my friend angela on!
angela & i share an admiration for party planing/decorating blogs & when she let me know a few months ago that she'd made contact with the ubber talented kim of the tomkat studio blog about collaborating on a milk & cookies party for amelia i was quite excited & certainly on board to photograph the event.
needless to say, amelia's birthday party was just fabulous!
didn't angela do a beautiful job?! (and trust pailyn & me...it was as yummy as it was gorgeous!)

complimentary matilda jane mini shoot drawing
i'd like to thank everyone who came or called/emailed an order in to my matilda jane show! everything has been delivered & pailyn is guilty of wearing a new mj outfit or the past three days since her goodies arrived :o)
so now, it's time to announce the winner of the complimentary matilda jane mini shoot! everyone was entered once for each piece purchased...there were 46 chances in the bowl-pailyn was kind enough to be the official drawer and pulled out the winner with much enthusiasm!
congratulations to stephanie!
i'm excited about seeing miss presley in one of her new matilda jane dresses or outfits! stephanie & presley are new to MJC but she wasted no time jumping right in :o) let me just say odds were a bit in her favor swimming around in that glass bowl.
and because the video quality is so crummy, i feel the need to share something cute of my growing girl
she has been all about her new wardrobe & we've enjoyed the dry, cooler weather lots! i hope all my friends with adorable girlies enjoy their new mj pieces-be sure to post pictures on facebook so i can see them in it!

sisters x 5 [ mississippi children's photographer ]
my poor blog has been neglected for so long that i almost forgot how to log in! not really, but i do recognize what an awful blogger i've been...oops. i'm not going to promise to do better...this time of year is crazy & between shooting, editing, ordering and delivering- blogging just doesn't always make the cut. although i do have lots i'd love to share & will do my best :o)
i love big families! i'm always so impressed with mom's who have it together with more than my maximum capability of caring for my own three children. meet family of six girls...i had the pleasure of photographing the five youngest.
these two are the little sisters. aren't they precious?!
and their fabulous big sisters...
these girls were a blast to "work" with! super cooperative...we had much fun! and kim, i have sweet captures of the five of them together, but those can be a surprise in your gallery :o)

surrounded by love [ brookhaven, mississippi newborn photographer ]
newborn baby e's sweet mom first contacted me in late december of last year to book a children's session of her fabulously big family. between then & now, we switched the sibling shoot to a gwm plan for the new baby she learn in january that she was expecting :o)
baby e made his debut quite early, but was a tough little nugget-doing well to have come as early as he did. i was eager to finally meet him after following his progress so long. i'll zip it so you all can feast your eyes on this precious, tiny baby boy that makes 8.
he was such a wonderful little subject for me! he slept like a champ, only waking to get some love from one of his big brothers :o) with seven siblings...he is *loved!* i only got to see three of his brothers that day, but my goodness each of them absolutely melted me-how genuinely caring they each were toward their new baby brother!
and below is the very last photo i snapped. it's amazing to me how so often that last frame taken at a session becomes a favorite of mine...this is no exception. i love working with beautiful people :o)
it was wonderful to finally meet you both a & m. baby e is beyond sweetness & i look so forward to watching him grow across the next year!

big brother, little sister [ mccomb, mississippi child photographer ]
these sweet and absolutely adorable siblings came to see me from virginia. as super, special as that makes me feel i should mention they're from brookhaven and came home to see family & friends. ;o)
he was a little ham!
and she pretended to be bashful at first.
we became fast friends and they totally entertained me :o) it was wonderful to finally meet & spend the morning with y'all! jh & g were precious!!

sisters [ mississippi baby and child photographer ]
oh, how i adore a happy, grinning-with-two-bottom-teeth baby girl!
what a cutie pie! miss l has done some growing since our last meet up! she's trying to catch up to her big sister :o)
aren't they just precious together!? e shared a storybook with her little sister (more photos on my facebook business page) and became friends with the nearby moo-cows. i think she enjoyed being footloose and fancy free in the field...
miss l will be right on her heals in no time! ...girls, thanks for not letting a little rain slow us down! i look so forward to our next meet up, but for your sake, a-i hope time passes slowly.
they just grow up far too fast!

my newborns have been flashing me the most adorable grins lately & i'm so excited to have gotten this sweet smile.
he had the most fabulous nursery too...his mommy painted all the the fun stuff on his walls too!! ...just a peek.

a little baby sister [ mississippi newborn photographer ]
baby lucy is absolutely precious and was so sweet for me.
i got to cuddle her to sleep and hold her while her mom & i visited...no matter how often i photograph newborns it is still a surprise to see just how small they are.
what is sweeter than the debut of a sweet baby girl into a family of boys? look how smitten they are with her...

now, on a side note, i have to revisit one of my very first paid sessions-back in the film days no less! it was april of 2006; any guesses as to who i photographed?
...it's lucy's momma and big brother when they were expecting a baby brother! i shudder a little when i look back on some of my earlier work, but this little snap still makes me smile. i've so enjoyed watching these boys grow up & couldn't be more happy about spending a year documenting their little sister.
what a blessing it is to be doing something i love for people i'd much rather call friends than clients. blessed indeed!

miss p at one year [ mississippi baby photographer ]
i got to meet up with a spunky miss p for the third time to complete her final grow with me session. this little miss wanted so badly to stand on her own at her sitting session so i anticipated a busy session :o) lindey magee is a madison, mississippi baby photographer
there was quite a bit of chasing around; she was a quick & inquisitive; we had lots of fun! see...
and p has given me her eyes effortlessly since we first met a year ago. it's always such a joy to meet these sweet babies and watch and document their first year. i've also decided it's a bit bittersweet to do this one year session; they just grow up so fast! thanks m & p; i'll be in touch with your password next week.

silly & *stylish siblings [ mississippi children's photographer ]
oh my heavens, how fun was this shoot!?! see for yourself...my amazing subjects helped me see some fun ideas come to life effortlessly.
sessions like this remind me of exactly why i've chosen to photograph (babies &) children exclusively! i love each child's innocence & the pure, effortless fun they have as we play & interact with each other. i appreciate so much when a mom trusts me enough to rummage through old baby clothes when i ask her to bring some sentimental treads so i can make an idea work. (some of those dresses were ones these girl's mom wore when she was little)how much more special does that make this series of shots? & i'm not ashamed to share that i've scoped out my laundry room to see if there is a home for one of these prints on the wall, ha!
moving on...
the big brother plays ball & is totally smitten with his little sisters. they had the best reactions to my silly 'make 'em smile & cut up' commentary :o)
aren't they fun!? and gorgeous...don't forget, gorgeous!
sigh. thank you ladies & gentleman for a fabulously fun evening!
