her first annual family day

at church. she sure likes being outside...

 

darn cute if i do say so myself!

 

our church family was pretty darn excited that the roo came out of her pouch for the day. she enjoyed all the attention she got, for sure!

  

she especially loves her mrs. mae...for all the prayers & texts & love :o)

 

and mr. billy...we <3 mr. billy

her announcements

are finally hittin' the streets!

the shoot was done the last week of february-she was about a month old (but, for ourclient friends, she was 3 weeks early-so that's like a shoot at 1 week) anyway. got the shoot done. spent a few days designing the card. got that ordered in record time...the roo assisted by sleeping soundly in her sling the whole while.

then

they sat on my kitchen hutch for a couple weeks waiting to be folded & stuffed into envelopes

then

they got moved to the living room. and they sat there for a month or so while other things took priority (see the "my daddy's site" link in the nav bar above)

finally

they got ready to go

 

(that's in b&w so as not to spoil the colorful surprise that will soon be hitting your mailboxes!)

we even sent one to her favoritest political voice, governor sarah palin (she listened to hours of speeches and such in the womb, and became quite fond)

 

once we got them all together...off to the post office to purchase stamps. we learned that a 5x5 envelope is special & needs a 20cent surcharge. great, 'cause regular postage isn't enough right on it's own. then they brought me an array of the most gosh-awful-ugly assortment of stamps seen to mankind. UGLY. and wanted me to use 3 different amounts to add up to the correct amount...they clashed & were different sizes...i said no thank you...and asked for another option, please.

and the entire post office stopped for a few minutes to figure out how to please the difficult momma. (not really, but kind-of) they could print out individual labels. okay...sounds good. (i assumed it would be a strip of 140 labels i could peel & stick-good deal!) BUT she got started & i saw that she would have to weigh each envelope & enter in it's zipcode and let it print & then stick it on.

65 minutes later (pailyn & bennett were very well behaved in the post office! and they hope you appreciate the fact that your announcement doesn't have 3 ugly clashing stamps across the top corner) we were done.

it really only took an hour to do. the last five minutes were a result of waiting on the receipt to finish printing.

 

pailyn wants everyone to know her momma isn't as neurotic about everything as she happened to be regarding postage.

seeking some blog love

it hurts her heart when we check the blog & there's no love (comments) for me to read her.

 

she'd sure love to know who's peeking. seriously. look at her.

her dilemma

if the roo is in a good mood, her changing table is the place to be. she's carried on quite a few in depth conversations with me while chilling there.

 

that is until this happens...

  

 

 

...and it happens about once a day. baby girl gots a grip ;o)

it cracks me up. the wrap is a 24x30 & that baby dwarfs her!

this snapshot was taken during one of her several 5-10 minute long naps she takes in her bed (before she wakes up & realizes she's not being held. i love it on her wall :o)

she needs held always (or so she thinks) so ben gets a shift. doesn't he look proud!?

and the roo has this little face mastered. it says 'do something different' 'give me your undivided attention' and 'i'm not digging this particular view, please adjust how you're holding me' (among other things)

her first trip to church

miss p had her 2 month check up and shots (traumatic...bless our hearts!) so i'm no longer holding her prisoner in the house :o) we went to sunday school & big church today. i wore her in her pouch & that little roo was an angel!

here she is just before we left the house (she slept & let me get myself ready!...i told you...angel!)

she ate during sunday school & was super popular among our church family...especially mr. billy...her favoritest ;o) she smiled big at mr. walter and several others when we walked into big church, but she was out before i ever sat down.

she slept soundly through our mcdonald's lunch (i know...you would think her nana would feed us!) and didn't show her peepers until we were home sweet home :o)

 

hello sweet baby!

got milk?

thank you Lord for this milk.

 

i posted a while back about pailyn's 2 month checkup and shots and how we changed her formula (to similac sensitive rs) and she was happy. smiling and cooing. she found her little voice & it was wonderful!

well...after a day & a half of bliss, she was back to her hurting with gas little self :'(  we decided it had to have been the fact that i was giving her infant tylenol for her 3 shots (i promise i thought the dang needles were going to come through the back side of her little legs!) that kept her from hurting. the new formula helped a bit with the spit up, but my poor baby was hurting!

i called the clinic to ask about trying something else. the nurse encouraged me to give it a couple more days. ugh.

i did. we gave it another day & at 9:30 tuesday (march 31st) night pailyn's sweet daddy drove to walmart (if you know chuck, you'll realize what a big deal this is!) to buy his baby girl some alimentum. she had a bottle at 10ish & we went to sleep. i woke up *8 hours* later!! wow. previously she'd slept up to 5 hours at a time, but 8 hours! wow.

so now we say....thank you Lord for the stinky, stinky, break-the-bank milk!

 

she still struggles some in the evenings & is the spit up queen, and while we both have to change clothes a few times a day & that crap wreaks to high heck...i'm with pailyn...thank you Lord for alimentum!

note: i don't in any way help her with her hands...she does this all the time :o) prayer hands!
